About the Founder

My name is Lucas Cardoso. I’m a 26-year-old native of the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, now living in Austin, Texas, where I’m pursuing my MBA at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas.

From a very young age, I was immersed in the world of real estate. I saw firsthand how property could be a vehicle for financial growth, but also a cornerstone for community stability. When I came to the United States, I was immediately drawn to the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program—often known as Section 8. It struck me as one of the most powerful, yet profoundly underrated, tools in the modern real estate landscape.

However, I also noticed a significant barrier: complexity. The HCV program is governed by a web of federal regulations, local policies, and specific procedures that can feel intimidating to new and even experienced investors. Many were missing out on this incredible opportunity simply because the information was scattered, confusing, or inaccessible.

Drawing on my experience in real estate and marketing, I founded SectionKey with a single, clear mission: to democratize the Housing Choice Voucher program.

SectionKey was born from the conviction that every investor, regardless of their experience level, should have the knowledge to participate in the HCV program with confidence. This platform is designed to be your comprehensive playbook, breaking down every rule and procedure so you can protect your investment and succeed from day one.

My passion for real estate goes beyond the numbers on a spreadsheet. I truly believe in the power of property to transform lives and build stronger communities. I hope this platform serves not only as a resource for you but also as my way of giving back. As I build this resource for the community, I’m also preparing to invest in HCV properties myself in the near future.
